This one chestnut tree grew to canopy height, and lower portions of its main trunk are still alive and sprouting suckers. It must have held out better than most others!

Not far from Little Falls, this chestnut has grown tall enough to arch into the open space above the trail. It’s the largest I’ve seen, so far, at Wadsworth.
